SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY WITH YOUR ATTENDANCE AND DONATIONS

Back Door Mission and the Ontario Tech Social Science and Humanities program are teaming up to offer a free screening of the award-winning documentary Love in the Time of Fentanyl.

A group of misfits, artists, and drug users operates a renegade safe injection site in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. This powerful film offers an intimate portrait of a community fighting to save lives and keep hope alive in a neighborhood ravaged by the opioid crisis. Through the eyes of those who have been directly impacted, viewers will gain a deeper understanding of the devastating effects of this epidemic and the urgent need for action.

After the film, attendees will learn how to administer naloxone, a medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. After the naloxone demonstration there will be a panel discussion and Q&A to gain valuable insights from film participants and those who have first-hand experience with this crisis. This event is an important step in building awareness and promoting action towards ending the opioid epidemic.

Tickets for this event are free, but donations can be made at the time of purchase and are strongly encouraged. All proceeds will go towards supporting Back Door Mission and their efforts to provide assistance to those in need. Join us for an informative and inspiring evening and help make a positive difference in our community.
